Happy Birthday to the Party of HELL NO!

In 2009 big things happened in America. Some were good and some were not. One of the good big things was the birth of the Tea Party Movement. It is made up of angry Americans of every socioeconomic, ethnic, and racial stripe. They have been called the happiest, most courteous, hardworking and responsible angry people in the world. (They have been called other things too, but I’ll get to that later.) They see their movement as a great revolt against years of fiscally ruinous, unconstitutional misrule by a corrupt political class in Washington and the States.

This phenomenon might instead have been dated to September 25, 2008 and the movement called the Ice Cream Party, had the November election turned out differently. Ben Cohen, of Ben and Jerry’s Ice Cream, is the founder of the Soros funded radical leftist “grassroots group” True Majority. Cohen claims 700,000 members and says he organized over 251 events in 41 states to protest against a bill in the House which would eventually become Bush’s $700,000,000,000 TARP bailout of Wall Street. The protests also included a laundry list of unions and leftist groups including ACORN.

CNN reported, “The public backlash against the Bush administration’s proposal to use tax dollars to bail out Wall Street spilled into the streets Thursday.” Outraged leftists were quoted as saying, “People all over the country are up in arms about this,” and “Our members are livid, and they’re hitting the streets.”

On September 29th, 2008 the bill was defeated in the House, but a similar bill (TARP) was approved by the Senate on October 1st with Senator Barack Obama voting with the majority. The House passed TARP two days later, and a month after that, Obama was elected President of the United States.

Livid leftist objections to the use of taxpayer dollars for bailouts evaporated as those same groups started lining up at the trough of Obamas $787,000,000,000 American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, also known as the Porkulus Bill.

That’s when the party of HELL NO was born.

HELL NO to big Government!

Some Americans accept and have respect for the Tenth Amendment, which reads, “The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.”

Other Americans, the majority I fear, say to hell with the Tenth Amendment limits on the federal government.

The founders of our nation held a deep abhorrence for democracy and majority rule. In Federalist Paper No. 10, James Madison wrote, “Measures are too often decided, not according to the rules of justice and the rights of the minor party, but by the superior force of an interested and overbearing majority.” John Adams predicted, “Remember, democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There was never a democracy yet that did not commit suicide.” Our founders intended for us to have a republican form of limited government where the protection of individual God-given rights was the primary job of government.

In addition to an abhorrence of democracy, and the recognition that government posed the gravest threat to liberty, our founders harbored a deep distrust and suspicion of Congress. This suspicion and distrust is exemplified by the phraseology used throughout the Constitution, particularly our Bill of Rights, containing phrases such as Congress shall not: abridge, infringe, deny, disparage or violate. Today’s Americans think Congress has the constitutional authority to do anything upon which they can get a majority vote. We think whether a particular measure is a good idea or bad idea should determine passage as opposed to whether that measure lies within the enumerated powers granted Congress by the Constitution. Fifty-six percent of people questioned in a CNN/Opinion Research Corporation survey released Feb. 26 2010 said they think the federal government’s become so large and powerful that it poses an immediate threat to the rights and freedoms of ordinary citizens.

HELL NO to Fiscal Irresponsibility and Corruption.

Tea Party protesters come from every state in the union. This man came to Washington on 9/12, 2009 from San Antonio, TX. He said that he was really sorry he hadn’t brought his family with him. He stated that being a black conservative, he was unwilling to expose his children to what he expected would be a lot of liberal abuse. He was thrilled with the overall tenor of the event and the fact that no liberals were present to harass him. He spoke about how incredibly intolerant the left is to black individuals who don’t bow to the party line.

And what about the billions in mad money Barak E. Newman said he needed to keep unemployment below 8%? Now, a year later with real unemployment between 10 and 17%, it seems like FDR deja-vu all over again.

FDR’s Treasury Secretary and close friend, Henry Morganthau, conceded this fact to Congressional Democrats in May 1939: “We have tried spending money. We are spending more than we have ever spent before and it does not work. And I have just one interest, and if I am wrong … somebody else can have my job. I want to see this country prosperous. I want to see people get a job. I want to see people get enough to eat. We have never made good on our promises … I say after eight years of this Administration we have just as much unemployment as when we started … And an enormous debt to boot!”

After shocking the political world by anouncing he would not run for reelection, Democrat Senator Evan Bayh said something very similar: “If I could create one job in the private sector, that’s more than Congress has done in six months.”

In December the Obama Administration announced they had “saved or created” 1.1 million jobs.
In January the Obama Administration announced they had “saved or created” 2 million jobs.
Too bad for Obama that Americans aren’t buying his “saved or created” nonsense.

According to a Feb 11th  New York Times/CBS poll just 6% of Americans believe the $787 “stimulus” created any new jobs at all. Americans recognize a “Big Lie” when they hear one.          Hat Tip: Gateway Pundit

HELL NO to Mortgaging our Children’s Future

Congressional deception about government finances means that today’s children will face a financial disaster that will make today’s mess seem like a walk in the park. What’s called the public debt stands at $11 trillion and growing. That pales in comparison to the federal government’s unfunded liability — obligations that are not covered by an asset of equal or greater value.

In the absence of massive tax increases or cuts in benefits, in order to meet its promises Congress must cease spending on one in four programs by 2020, such as education and highway construction, and one in two by 2030, and by 2050 or so all federal revenue will be spent supporting Social Security, Medicare and prescription drug benefits. Such a scenario is unsustainable. There will be economic and political chaos. Today’s politicians are not likely to take measures to avoid the coming chaos because senior citizens, the major beneficiaries of Social Security and Medicare, vote in large numbers and will exact a high political price. Plus, neither today’s senior citizens nor today’s politicians will be alive in 2050. I’d be more optimistic if my fellow Americans were simply suffering from congressional deception as opposed to their not caring about the economic calamity that awaits tomorrow’s Americans.Prof. Walter E. HELL NO to Whitehouse/Liberal Media demonization of ordinary working Americans!

The first protests of the new movement were held on February 19, 2009. Known as “Porkulus rallies,” they were in direct response to unprecendented federal deficit spending, represented both by Obama’s stimulus and the increasingly opaque TARP bailout program.

Rather than report the news as legitimate opposition, as they did Ben Cohen’s September rallies, the dominant liberal media (MSM) blasted protesters as “racists” and “extremists”. America looked on in shocked  amazement as the White House joined the media in dealing the race card repeatedly.

The same media that refused to investigate Obama’s radical past and associations now trolled protest attendees looking for unsavory needles in the proverbial haystack. Whenever possible, oddballs were presented as representative of the whole movement. This distortion and demonization culminated in the Department of Homeland Security issuing a report that stunned the nation and the world. Patriotic Americans were now lumped in the same enemies list with Islamic terrorists.

James Delingpole, of Britain’s largest daily newspaper, The Telegraph, described the report thus: “The whole report is little more than a mud-slinging exercise designed to brand anyone who doesn’t think Barack Hussein Obama is the greatest thing since sliced bread as some kind of closet neo-Nazi.”

Undeterred, hundreds of grassroots groups sprang up in cities and towns, meeting in libraries, restaurants, and private homes from coast to coast. On Tax Day, April 15h, on July 4th, and through the summer, Americans rallied again and again. The Administration responded with a barrage of accusations that crossed the line into political paranoia land.

The DNC put out an ad claiming that the “right-wing extremist base” is out to “destroy” Barack Obama, so it has unleashed “angry mobs . . . mob activity straight from the playbook of high-level Republican political operatives. They have no plan for moving our country forward, so they’ve called out the mob.”

HELL NO to government smears and intimidation!

When asked by a reporter whether the protests at various town-hall meetings represented legitimate grassroots opposition or were manufactured “AstroTurf” stunts, Nancy Pelosi replied, “I think they’re AstroTurf. You be the judge. They’re carrying swastikas and symbols like that to a town meeting on health care.”  – Jonah Goldberg

By endlessly repeating that charge, the term “astroturfing” became a new household word in America. Psychiatrists call this type of behavior projection. At the same time as Democrats were making the charge against Tea Party protesters, Obama was marshaling his campaign apparatus, Obama For America (OFA), now rebranded as Organizing For America (OFA). Paid activists were then sent into the streets to confront and disrupt opposition to his socialist single payer health care legislation.

Americans recognize this type of activity as that normally seen initiated by anti-democratic regimes like that of the Castros, Chavezes and Mugabes of the world. In Cuba they are called Repudiation agents and in Manuel Noriega’s Panama they were called Dignity Brigades. This type of behavior by the chief executive in any country is a symptom of the totalitarian impulse that is common to all autocrats.

Ads appeared in newspapers and internet sites like Craigslist offering pay for protest. White House organized crews like this one in Denver were created to shout down opposition to the government’s agenda. Obama the “community organizer” in chief is behaving more like the Democrat Bull Conner than the Republican Martin Luther King.

Among those enlisted in Obama’s brigades were these day laborers who were unable to read the signs that they were provided with. ¿Hablas ingles? Casi nada!

With Democrat union boss Andy Stern the most frequent visitor to Obama’s Oval Office in 2009, it came as no surprise to see union goons confronting Tea Partiers in the streets. In a fashion common in third world dictatorships, unionized workers intimidated Tea Partiers in cities across America.

This White House directed thuggery culminated in the beating and hospitalization of Kenneth Gladney in Saint Louis. Andy Stern’s S.E.I.U. thugs didn’t approve of a black man peddling patriotic products at a townhall protest, so they beat the hell out of him. Months later, Eric Holder, United States Attorney General, saw fit to make sure assault charges were dropped against the Obama race enforcers just as in the Black Panther voter intimidation case!

I met Kenneth Gladney in Denver, at a Tea Party Express rally. He told me no one in the Administration had reached out to him while he was in the hospital or afterwards. He was thankful for support from the Tea Party movement and showed his appreciation by speaking at rallies. He told me proceeds from flag and T-shirt sales would go directly to help him and his wife  pay for his hospital bills.

HELL NO to  OBAMACARE!

How stupid is it of us to ask those who brought us “affordable” housing to now turn their attention to bringing us “affordable” health care?

On September 10, 2009, Tea Partiers rallied in Washington to support the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons (founded 1929) and Docs For Patient Care, which was founded in 2009. Both organizations oppose the politically and financially compromised American Medical Association, which only represents 17% of doctors in the U.S.

The majority of doctors want to see changes in healthcare. This means responsible reform. The system requires remodeling, not demolition. Patients are tired of the partisan politics and want the specific problems addressed, not using the identification of these problems as an excuse to do something far more insidious.

Docs 4 Patient Care…was created to prevent the government takeover of healthcare… We will continue to advocate for a responsible resolution which is based on a patient centered, market driven approach where doctors and patients remain unencumbered in medical decision making. Here’s a bit of what the Wall Street Journal has to say about exactly how the doctor, patient relationship will be destroyed by big healthcare run from Washington.

Primary-care doctors who refer patients to specialists will face financial penalties under the plan (Obama’s). Doctors will see 5% of their Medicare pay cut when their “aggregated” use of resources is “at or above the 90th percentile of national utilization,” according to the chairman’s mark of Section 3003 of the bill. Doctors will feel financial pressure to limit referrals to costly specialists like surgeons, since these penalties will put the referring physician on the hook for the cost of the referral and perhaps any resulting procedures.

Next, the plan creates financial incentives for doctors to consolidate their practices. The idea here is that Medicare can more easily apply its regulations to institutions that manage large groups of doctors than it can to individual physicians. So the Obama plan imposes new costs on doctors who remain solo, mostly by increasing their overhead requirements—such as requiring three years of medical records every time a doctor orders routine medical equipment like wheelchairs.

The impact of these provisions won’t be confined to Medicare. Private insurance sold in the federally regulated “exchanges” will take cues from Medicare, since they’re both managed from the same bureaucracy. Medicare will set the standard for medical care across the entire marketplace.

Mr. Obama promised that under his plan people wouldn’t have to change their doctors. But it’s clear that doctors will be forced to change how they make their medical decisions.   WSJournal

HELL NO to SOCIALISM

From the first Porkulus rallies in February, 2009, it has been apparent that Obama is viewed as a socialist by many, if not most, in the Tea Party movement. I, for one, came to understand after watching two years of nonstop campaigning, that the CHANGE Obama promised was a left-wing change that would mimic the failing socio-economic policies of Europe and Canada.

Despite his airy rhetoric, he was not offering real change, but just more of the same financially bankrupt entitlement programs that are the legacy of FDR’s New Deal and Johnson’s Great Society. Rather than bringing something new, he was drawing from the past, and apparently, without any intelligible concern for the consequences.

But don’t take my word for it. The British find America’s fear of the “S” word quite un-European. From England Adam Shaw criticized Bill O’Reilly’s very public refusal to apply the word socialist to Obama.

There are as many exact definitions of socialism as there are socialists. Yet they do have common characteristics. Love of big government, nationalization of industry, massive taxation, wealth redistribution, etc. all point towards socialism. Someone like the president would not even have to say he was a socialist in Western Europe; it would be assumed quite normally, without any fuss or conspiracy.

All these verbal gymnastics that are used to avoid stating the obvious may be rather humorous for someone watching from over the Atlantic, but for Americans, such delusion is a very serious matter. It is important, not just for the American right, but for the American people as a whole, to realise just exactly who it is they have elected to office. With the approval numbers dropping almost daily for the president, it appears that it is sinking in for the generally center-right American public.

However, when people on the right start being “concerned” about describing Obama as what he clearly is, in part due to the hysteria that both sides of the political spectrum exhibit when the word “socialist” is used, then it damages the effectiveness of opposition to him. Instead of being able to define what Obama’s aims are in his presidency, those on the left and on the right keep pushing Obama into a slightly left-of-center, non-ideological fog. Such a political move is deceitful, and it does not allow the American public to get a clear perception of just what they have voted into the White House.

Those of us across the pond who analyze American politics know exactly who it is you have in the White House. Obama is not some new post-political entity. Nor is he some form of Stalinist that will set up a USSA. He is a normal, well-spoken, charismatic socialist who in Britain would sit quite happily towards the left of the Labour Party alongside figures such as Tony Benn, Aneurin Bevan, Harold Wilson, and Ed Balls. To call someone a socialist is not conspiratorial, and it is not fear-mongering; it is simply the truth, and it is time for some in the conservative media to take a deep breath and admit it — America has a socialist leading the country. I met these Jewish immigrants from the former USSR at the 9/12 rally in Washington DC. Many Russians who escaped to the US are stunned by the creeping socialism that they have found here. Amazingly the Communist Party of the United States (CPUSA) endorsed Obama’s candidacy, and it’s members campaigned tirelessly for his election!

A broad multiclass, multiracial movement is converging around Obama’s “Hope, change and unity” campaign because they see in it the thrilling opportunity to end 30 years of ultra-right rule and move our nation forward with a broadly progressive agenda.

This diverse movement combines a variety of political currents and aims in a working coalition that is crucial to social progress at this point. At the core are America’s working families, of all hues and ethnicities, whose determination to move forward does not depend on, and will not be diverted by, the daily twists and turns of this watershed presidential campaign. They are taking the long view.

The struggle to defeat the ultra-right and turn our country on a positive path will not end with Obama’s election. But that step will shift the ground for successful struggles going forward.    CPUSA    h/t   Sweetness and Light

In the summer and fall, communists helped OFA and the unions disrupt Townhall opposition to Obama’s healthcare legislation!

Progressive forces are organizing to attend every congressional town hall meeting and counter the right-wing attempts to disrupt, take them over, and deny the democratic process.

Organizing for America (OFA) is planning thousands of events, door knocks and phone banks in August.  In an email to OFA President Obama called on all those who built the movement for his election to step forward now.

This fight for health care is a fight for the ability to win on every other issue…..

The political platform and language of the CPUSA is indistinguishable from that of the Democratic party! And isn’t it “funny” how the AFL-CIO, SEIU, AFSCME and other unions are so closely aligned with the Communist Party?

At the AFL-CIO labor convention, teabaggers, birthers and other haters seem a world away.

The labor movement is also fighting for equal opportunity for lesbians, gays, bi-sexuals and transgender people and the actors unions initiated a program to increase representation in the media of people with disabilities.

Young workers are one of the populations least likely to be unionized and have some of the worst economic statistics compared to other age groups, and the AFL-CIO has initiated a new program to reach out and organize this new generation.

HELL NO to Obama’s powerful unaccountable CZARS

Alarm and opposition to Obama’s 40 unvetted “czars” is on full display at every Tea Party rally. Democrats and Republicans in Congress responded to blogger exposés by calling Obama to account. In the Senate, GOP Sen. Susan Collins proposed to restrict federal funds of at least 18 appointed Obama czars.

….many of these new “czars” appear to occupy positions of greater responsibility and authority than officials who already have been confirmed by the Senate.

Whether in the White House or elsewhere, these “czar” appointments are not subject to the Senate’s constitutional “advice and consent” role. Little information is available concerning their responsibilities and authorities. There is no careful Senate examination of their character and qualifications. And we are speaking here of some of the most senior positions within our government.

Doubts about “czarism” were expressed …. by Democratic Sen. Robert Byrd (W.Va.), who wrote to Obama in February that “the rapid and easy accumulation of power by White House staff can threaten the constitutional system of checks and balances.

“At the worst, White House staff have taken direction and control of programmatic areas that are the statutory responsibility of Senate-confirmed officials. … As presidential assistants, they are not accountable to Congress, to Cabinet officials and to virtually anyone but the president.”

Also …. Democratic Sen. Russ Feingold (Wis.) wrote Obama, asking him to square his naming “czars” with the Appointments Clause of the Constitution, which provides that executive posts should be created by law and subject to Senate confirmation.    h/t  Michelle Malkin

Obama’s Science Czar John Holdren was exposed by investigative blogger Zombie as an advocate of forced sterilization and abortion to save the planet.

Obama’s “Safe Schools Czar” Kevin Jennings was outed for supporting a group which advocates for legalization of sexual relations between adult men and underage boys. Turns out that the czar is a regular speaker at North America Man Boy Love Association conferences.

Obama’s “Green Czar” Van Jones was fired after he was shown to be a Maoist organization member, a 9/11 truther, and a creep.

Obama’s White House communications director, Anita Dunn praised Mao in a videotaped speech to high school students by calling the communist dictator “one of the two people that I turn to most.”

HELL NO to the Corrupt Dominant Liberal Media

On October 19th, 2009, Tea Party protesters converged on newspaper and television offices in over 100 cities across America. After witnessing a biased media deify Barack Obama and demonize John McCain and Sarah Palin, it still came as a shock to Tea Party patriots when they too became victims of a vicious left-wing smear campaign. The Tea Party Patriots have been denigrated and attacked repeatedly by corporate media giants and administration officials in the most vicious and crude terms. They are routinly called racists, nazis, and teabaggers by media and government elites.

While the dominant liberal media looked the other way, bloggers and Fox News exposed Obama’s radical associations and ACORN organizing past. In January 1993, a survey of the Congressional Press Gallery quantified the extent of the liberal bias. It revealed that 89% of the press had voted Democrat and 7% had voted Republican. The Freedom Forum survey of Capitol Hill correspondents and Washington Bureau Chiefs was widely accepted as accurate. There is a long history of this type of voting pattern among the media elite in America. More than four-fifths of the journalists interviewed voted for the Democratic presidential candidate in every election between 1964 and 1976.

These people are fully aware of the MSM’s dishonest news coverage. The size and demeanor of all these rallies goes un-reported or misreported and downgraded. When a million of these taxpayers swamped the nation’s capital on September 12 2009, big media dismissed them as angry racists and reported only tens of thousands. The Daily Mail the second largest newspaper in England headlined the event: A million march to US Capitol to protest against ‘Obama the socialist’.

October’s “Can You Hear Us Now” rallies were a direct response to unethical liberal media bias in reporting on the Tea Party Movement. As the MSM loses viewers, readers and dollars by the millions, Fox cable news and talk radio’s Rush Limbaugh Show are flourishing and highly profitable. The public is voting with their ears and eyes and choosing conservative media which offers a center right world-view which is seen as more balanced and trustworthy.

HELL NO to radical environmentalists and their junk science!

Another big item on the Tea Party agenda is opposition to junk science and planned Cap and Trade policies. Here the protesters have won a huge moral victory as their position has been vindicated by world events.

The Global Warming controversy is a cautionary example of how dangerous left-wing ideological bias in news reporting can be. While the liberal-left has been convinced that the sky is literally going to destroy the earth, most conservatives were not persuaded. Teapartiers looked at the science and couldn’t stop laughing until they realized that this “science” could actually destroy their western free enterprise culture and their children’s future. The collapse of the Copenhagen conference and a series of scientific fraud scandals have confirmed the teapartiers’ understanding that Anthropogenic Global Warming is a colossal hoax!

Once again we have to cross the atlantic to get the best reporting on what, after eugenics in the 1930’s, qualifies as the greatest scientific fraud of all time. The UK’s largest daily  the Telegraph has become Europe’s leader in following the climate science debacle. In an article titled “The real reason for AGW: Post Normal Science” James Delingpole  writes: How has it happened that so many distinguished scientists around the world have got it so very wrong? Why is that more than a few of them think it’s OK to manipulate evidence, hide or destroy data after inconvenient Freedom of Information requests, conspire to silence dissenting scientists, lie and cheat in official hearings, and generally engage in the kind of activities that those of in the non-scientific world had naively assumed that a real scientist would never do?

In three words: POST NORMAL SCIENCE

In 1991 a Marxist philosopher called Jerome R. Ravetz had helped to invent a seductive and dangerous new concept called ‘post-normal science’ (PNS). No longer was it considered essential that scientists strive after objectivity. Their new duty, Ravetz held, was not to ‘truth’ but to what he called ‘quality’. And by ‘quality’ he meant something more akin to rhetoric — the ability to manipulate evidence and present it in such a way as to achieve particular political ends.

Post-normal science and the AGW movement were made for one another. No need for any of that tedious objectivity; no need for careful observation or the risk of frustration through falsification. All that mattered now was the quality of the ‘narrative’, the scariness of the future scenarios cooked up by computer models which — as the hockey stick curve demonstrated — could predict for you whatever you wanted them to predict.

‘Climate change’, in other words, has little if anything to do with science. (Or as Mike Hulme once put it: ‘Self-evidently dangerous climate change will not emerge from a normal scientific process of truth seeking, although science will gain some insights into the question if it recognises the socially contingent dimensions of a post-normal science.’) It’s not a genuine problem to be solved, but a handy excuse — with a fashionable green glow — to advance a particular social and political agenda under the cloak of ecological righteousness and scientific authority. Just when you thought the Warmists had lost the argument completely, an unlikely new champion has ridden to their cause. ‘AGW is real!’ insists Al Gore’s new soul mate Osama Bin Laden.

DUBAI (AFP) – Al-Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden lectured the US and other industrial nations on climate change, and urged a dollar boycott in response to American “slavery,” in a fresh verbal assault broadcast Friday. In the message aired on Al-Jazeera television, possibly timed to coincide with the World Economic Forum in Davos, bin Laden said “all industrial nations, mainly the big ones, are responsible for the crisis of global warming.”  “Discussing climate change is not an intellectual luxury, but a reality,” LOL.

In 2010, the Tea Party Movement will be growing through what parents in America call “the terrible twos”. The second year of this great conservative awakening will be extremely interesting. Best of luck. patriots! The future of freedom depends on you.
