Obama Mao T-shirts Banned in China, Popular in USA

While China bans Oba-Mao T-shirts and cracks down on consumers and producers, it’s an entirely different story in the U.S. Capital. The popularity of Obama iconography around the world is indisputable, but who can match the audacity of those who cater to the cult of Obama just a few blocks from the White House? T-shirts, shot glasses, and even condoms are all freely available and sales are unrestricted in Obama’s new neighborhood in Washington, D.C.

This T-shirt in the window of the Washington DC Souvenir Headquarters caught my eye and my curiosity.

DurIng Obama’s visit to China CNN reported that police harassed them when they purchased a recently banned OBA MAO T-shirt in Bejing. ”  CNN reported that “a news blitz indicated the shirts had been “banned” by the Chinese government amid worries that they may offend the American president. It depicts President Obama wearing a Red Army uniform, the “Chinese communist-style” outfit made famous by Chairman Mao. On the front it says “Serve the People” in Chinese. On the back, “Oba-Mao” in English.”

CNN and the national press make a point of ignoring the fact that OBA MAO shirts are for sale everyday in America’s Capitol. All sorts of “communist Obama” posters flood the streets every time there is a protest against his fiscal policies, and the press fails to report about that huge trend either. US made “communist Obama” T-shirts are widely available on the internet, but can they really be meant as a compliment to the new President?

Just a couple of blocks from the US Capitol this souvenir shop seemed normal enough and there’s a 1/2 price sale going on!

But this is something much more than a DC tourist shop. Here you will find no Washington memorabilia except for a few postcards on a half empty rack.

This is a consumer temple dedicated to Barack Obama aka O-MAN.

OBA MAO T-shirts in pastel psychedelic colors.

China’s communist leader Mao Zedong has been an iconic figure for America’s leftists since the 1960s. Back then peaceniks and radicals worshiped both Mao’s Little Red Book and Tim Leary’s Politics of Ecstasy as new politico-spiritual bibles. While contradiction-immune hippies put flowers in national guardsmen’s rifle barrels, Mao’s book told them “Political power grows out of the barrel of a gun”. Doing drugs and revering Mao as a “revolutionary” has now morphed with Obama worship into OBA MAO. The psychedelic colors symbolize not just the LSD experience but an entire way of seeing the world. In this psycho-delic world-view Mao is cool and that trumps any contradictions presented by the reality of the horrors Mao inflicted on China .

The fact that the real Mao murdered 50-75 million innocent people cannot penetrate the hip-left mindset. When asked directly about the murders committed by Mao or Che, leftists will react defensively and offer bizarre justifications. The fact that Mao’s communists killed with the most gruesome forms of torture and starved millions does not even penetrate left-wing Mao-worship.

In the 1970s the new hip wisdom went like this: the failure of Maoist’s like Bill Ayers and his Weathermen to bring about “change” by violent revolution meant that the system could only be “changed from within”. Decadent, stoned leftists rejected the armed revolutionary model after Ayers and others showed how difficult and dangerous that path was. ” we should bring it all down from within” became the new hip catch-phrase as the radicals cut their hair and began to worm their way into “the system”. Decades later, Obama, mentored and anointed by those same 60’s radicals, stands poised to complete the revolutionary dreams of a generation of unfulfilled leftists.

It’s no accident that OBA MAO has brought with him a host of 1960s bizzaro world patriots like his Maoist communications director Anita Dunn. President Obama’s White House communications director, recently praised Mao in a videotaped speech to high school students by calling the communist dictator “one of the two people that I turn to most.”

Oh and don’t forget to pick up some of life’s little impulse items by the cash register.

The Soulbrotha….and….WHO’S DA MASTA T-shirts.  More iconic pop culture symbols of violence. Who exactly are these characters supposed to rough up? The FARC or the Iranians?  This looks more like “domestic” political violence fantasies to me.

B-ROK IS A B-BOY?

Another icon of the America hip-left is the ever popular Che T-shirt seen here with rock idol Jimi Hendrix. Also another contradiction that can’t be recognized by the cool and the mind-numbed on the left?

Che Guevara hated rock music and persecuted Cubans who were caught listening to it. Che made sure Rock music was made illegal in Cuba as it was in Russia and other communist countries. Many rockers were beaten and imprisoned in Cuba including Che’s own grandson. Canek Guevara tried playing rock in his homeland and was tear gassed and beaten in the street by the police force that Che had trained. Canek was born in Cuba in 1974 and adorned his guitar with a large decal of a U.S. dollar bill. Canek now lives in exile in Mexico.

In a January 10, 1959 law, Habeus Corpus was abolished and the death penalty introduced in Cuba. Che created and headed the “Commission Puradora” or Cleansing Commission. He was the Director of Cuba’s La Cabaña Prison. Che was also head of the “Prosecuting Tribunals”.

On December 11, 1964 in a speech before the U.N. General Assembly in New York, Che shouted, “Executions? Certainly, we execute. And we will continue executing as long as it is necessary! This is a war to the death with the revolution’s enemies.” The Black Book of Communism credits Che and Castro with executing by firing squad 14,000 men, women, and teens by 1970.

RISE LIKE A LION

Combined with the red, green and gold of Africa in psychedelic fashion, RISE LIKE A LION makes a strong Rastafarian statement. The Jamaican Ganja smoking cult believe that Haile Selassie the late Ethiopian president was the 24th genealogical descendant of King David “The Lion of Judah”. To the Rastas, Selassie was the Messiah-warrior who “lay in battle for 24 hours with a machine-gun” against the invading white Italians. Selassie thought they were nuts and refused to meet with the Rastas during a state visit to Jamaica in 1966. They continued their dope-smoking worship even after Selassie disappeared in a Marxist coup in 1975. In 1992 his body was discovered under the floorboards of the presidential office in Addis Ababa.

What we see symbolized in this T-shirt art is the substitution of Obama for Selassie as the new “black Messiah” of the Rastafari. The Rasta Messiah is prophesied to rise like the Lion of Judah and slay the enemies of the black race and lead a new world of peace and harmony.

Here we see the red,green and gold combined with Rasta Reagge star Bob Marley’s song title “One Love”  Underneath the company logo (concreteroots) it says “Quest for oneness”. Anyone who thinks Obama has “concrete roots” is smoking some powerful stuff. Obama has plush carpet roots and those have been mostly red as he has had every opportunity laid at his feet by Americas left-wing power establishment.

Out in the mean streets of DC there is a different reality. Obama worship isn’t so prevalent where the T-shirt meets the consumer. On 9/12 I took this photo one block from the capitol. With the presidents popularity plummeting it seems that the FBI the CIA the USA and DC itself are all top shelf, while Obama … not so much.
