Tea Party Express Gathers Steam Across America

As Democrats in Washington plan a cram down of their massive health care bill, America’s burgeoning Tea Party movement is gathering momentum. The call has gone out to converge on the nation’s capital Thursday and confront lawmakers face to face in their offices.

The Tea Party Express bus tours November 3rd Denver stop coincided with Election Day 2009. Thousands of Coloradans showed up at the Civic Center to protest growing government spending, attacks on Liberty and the private sector. Everyone was energized about sending a message to those who are recklessly increasing the national debt while steering America towards socialism.

Lu Ann Busse, the Colorado chair of the 9/12 Movement, points to Nancy Pelosis 1,990 page health care bill. The pages were passed around so that tea partyers could participate in shredding the bill. The shredded pages will be delivered to lawmakers in Washington. People are being asked to arrive in D.C. by noon Thursday.

Congresswoman Michelle Bachmann said Wednesday: “There will be information people can take so they can find their congressmen and go into the capitol. Don’t bring your pitchforks. Bring your video cameras. Get these members of congress on camera. Ask them what are you going to do about voting on healthcare, keep your hands up on healthcare. And then post those YouTubes on video. I think about all you need to know about how bad this bill is is that members of congress have exempted themselves from it. It’s good enough for you, not good enough for them, and they are only giving you 72 hours to read it. So they obviously are embarrassed of their own bill.”

Joe Wurzelbacher joined in the shredding, as did Deborah Johns, Vice Chair of Our Country Deserves Better PAC.

_MG_0264Joe told the crowd that he was proud to be an American and “not ashamed to be a Christian”. Sorry I didn’t take notes but I can say that he is a fine speaker with a straight from the heart style that is quite moving. The crowd was totally energized by his words.

Kenneth Gladney is with the tour, speaking out about liberty and being an independent thinker in America today. He was brutally assaulted in a video-recorded incident that took place Aug. 6 outside a town hall meeting in St. Louis held by Rep. Russ Carnahan, D-Mo.

Gladney was at the town hall meeting selling Don’t Tread on Me flags and political buttons to provide for himself and his wife. Obama supporting Service Employees International Union thugs started using racial slurs towards Kenneth, angry that a black man would have a different point of view from the Democratic Party. They beat him so badly he was hospitalized and wheelchair bound for some time after the incident. SEIU appears to be operated as a branch of Organizing for America, which is Obama’s campaign organization.

If you want a shock, check out the union’s web site. The relationship between Obama and this “union” is what we expect to see from Castro’s Cuba or Chavez Venezuela!! Take a good long look at the sites masthead slide show. It shows the extent of the progressive/communist takeover of labor, and the molding of a socialist anti-democratic political corps Fidel/Obama style. SEIU is the fastest growing union in America and they are dedicated to Obama-worship and power.

The St. Louis District Attorney is filing hate crime charges against the SEIU workers as a result of the beating. Those thugs were summoned to the meeting by Democrat Party organizers specifically to intimidate hard working taxpaying American dissenters, the kind who make up the Tea Party movement. Kenneth told me that only the Tea Party people have reached out to him after he was injured by SEIU. He’s about 5’7″ and a gentle man. He told the crowd about the incident, but encouraged them not to be afraid to speak out and make their voices heard. He led them in chanting “DON’T TREAD ON ME!”

Singer songwriter Lloyd Marcus thrilled the crowd with The American Tea Party Anthem.

Mr President!
Your stimulus is sure to bust
Its just a socialistic scheme
The only thing it will do
Is kill the American dream

You wanna take from achievers
Somehow you think that’s fair.
And redistribute to those folks
Who won’t get out of their easy chair

We’re havin’ a tea party across this land
If you love this country
Come on and join our band
We’re standin’ up for freedom and liberty
Cause patriots have shown us freedom ain’t free

So when they call you a racist cause you disagree
It just another of their dirty tricks to silence you and me.
I believe in the Constitution and all it stands for.
Anyone who tramples it should be booted out the door

Now we’re not advocating violence
That’s what the so-called peace crowd do
We’re talkin’ peaceful protest to defend the red, white and blue

We gotta vote out these clowns who don’t love the USA
Who stay up late losing sleep fearing what the French might say

We’re havin’ a tea party across this land
If you love this country
Come on and join our band
We’re standin’ up for freedom and liberty
Cause patriots have shown us freedom ain’t free

Mr. Marcus also performed his new song Twenty Ten to the tune of New York, New York. Lloyd told me that the CD will be released next week and available on his web site.

Twenty Ten by Lloyd Marcus

Start spreadin the news, I’m tellin ya today
We’re takin back America, in twenty ten
This socialist nightmare, must come to an end
Cause we’re gonna vote them out, in twenty ten

I wanna wake up in an America, where I speak as I please
Without ACORN thugs, breaking my knee

My Reid/Pelosi blues will soon melt away
We’re takin the House & Senate
In twenty ten
If we can stop them there
Their agenda doesn’t have a prayer
It’s up to you in twenty ten

In twenty ten
I wanna wake up in an America, where I speak as I please
To find my freedoms restored, ACORN is out, No Obama Care, Reid and Pelosi are gone

My Obama blues are melting away. We’re takin back America
In twenty ten
If we can stop them there
Their socialist agenda doesn’t have a prayer
It’s up to you , come through, in twenty ten, in twenty ten

Earlier as the crowd awaited the arrival of the Tea Party Express something weird happened. This man mounted that stage and screamed “KILL AMERICANS! KILL AMERICANS!” and “NO HEALTH CARE!” more than 100 times. To say he was hysterical would be an insult to Rosie O’Donnell at her worst. This guy was out of control. When I asked him (I had to yell) why he thought Canadians come to the U.S. for life saving health care, he stopped, and said “I don’t care” and continued ranting.

_MG_0149

Oh my God, is that Barney Frank?

I got him to stop yelling a couple more times by repeating the question “Why do Canadians come here to get medical treatment?”. “Because they’re rich and they don’t care about poor Canadians” was his final reply as he stalked off into the park.

The real answer is they come here at great expense as an alternative to dying in Canada while waiting on line for surgery. Canadians routinely wait years for treatment that is available on short notice in the U.S. If you want to meet Canadians in the U.S.A., go to the waiting rooms in any children’s hospital here. Oh didn’t the MSM tell you that in Canada treatment is rationed for children too?

The very important stuff like pediatric heart surgery is a real bummer up north. Surgeons can’t get access to operating rooms because so many are closed due to funding shortfalls. Doctors have to compete with doctors for operating time. They have to pick and choose amongst the sickest children to match them up with scarce time slots. Even then the wait times are deadly.

The result is picking who will live and who will die. After a while many doctors just give up and move to the states because they can’t stand not being able to help dying kids. Parents are told by the honest doctors to take their kids to the states for treatment.

I thought a photographic comparison of center right conservative America (Joe the plumber) and todays progressive Democrat base (Off the Wall guy) would be appropriate here. Take a close look at the two Americas. Also think about the message of our sample useful idiot’s T-shirt. Pink Floyd’s Off The Wall album’s most famous lyric line: “We don’t need no education”. Our Uber-Liberal guy has apparently been living by that standard for quite some time..

Deborah Johns is a Marine Mom who speaks across the country on behalf of the troops.

_MG_0203 Mark Williams, one of America’s great radio talk show hosts, spoke about election politics in NY, VA and NJ. He is also a Fox News commentator.  “This is not about Democrats or Republicans. We need to vote out anyone in Washington who supports the proposed health care takeover, bailouts and other irresponsible spending and expansions of government.”

_MG_0320William Owens Jr. and his wife, Selena Owens are also part of the Tea Party Express Tour. He is the author of Obama: Why Black America Should Have Doubts, and she is the author of The Power Within a Conservative Woman.

_MG_0307

Dr. Alveda King, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s niece, wrote the forward to Owens’ book. Don’t ever forget that MLK was a life long Republican, and was murdered by a Democrat. Owens’ book challenges the reader to do no less than what Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. dreamed and look beyond the skin color of the candidate and evaluate their character. The author makes a strong argument that many of Mr Obama’s expressed beliefs are incompatible with not only Black America but America at large.

“If the Black Community is a Community of God, why is it preparing to support the secular Democrats once again–and with so little internal debate? If the Black Community is proud of its great heritage, why is it rallying in support of a man who espouses so many issues of dubious morality? In Obama: Why Black America Should Have Doubts, William Owens cautions Black America to think about these and other important issues and to vote, not with the heart but with the head. This book is not so much anti-Obama as it is pro-Black and pro-American and pro-everything else that’s good about this country.”

Joe (the plumber) in person proved to be one of the nicest guys in America today. For a “celebrity” he certainly doesn’t behave like one. For a man who has been ground up by the Democrat Party hatchet machine, he remains unperturbed. I asked him how he dealt with all he has been through so calmly and intelligently. He told me all of his strength and serenity comes from God.

After the speeches a conservative love-fest broke out. Here, Mountain Grandpa of Free Republic cuddles up with Kenneth Gladney. Kenneth signed flags for well wishers. I hope he sues SEIU for a bundle, not to mention putting the $%@!s in jail.

_MG_0036

Congresswoman Michelle Bachmann has called for Tea Partiers from around the country to go to D.C. in a last ditch attempt to talk some sense into legislators.

“This is really the eleventh hour when we’re calling people to come to D.C. It’s not inevitable that Speaker Pelosi’s healthcare government takeover is going to pass. And that’s why the number one thing people can do is actually come, see their member of congress, look at them in the eyes, especially with other freedom fighters in tow and let them know that the lessons of honor they should not forget at their peril. Take a look at the elections last night. Take a look at the tea parties and town halls. Speaker Pelosi called those Astroturf, that they were just made up. We know differently.”

_MG_0302

“We know people really do believe and embrace in the Constitution and the Declaration. They really do love this country. They love free markets, and they don’t want government to have cradle to grave control over their healthcare. So to fight that we’re inviting people from all over the United States to take their stand. This is a meet up at the steps of the United States Capitol. It’s the west steps. They face the Washington Monument. We’re asking people to come be here at noon. Arrive early. We’re going to have Jon Voight speaking, also Mark Levin will be speaking. Many others will be up on the platforms and what we’re going to do, it’s not a rally. It’s a press conference and then after that we’re unleashing everybody to go and find their members of congress in the Rayburn, Cannon, Longworth buildings.”

This woman from the Netherlands appreciates what America stands for and does not want to see this country CHANGE to match the decline that has happened to her native country.

_MG_0194Crowd size estimate: though a workday evening on an voting day a total of 2500 tea party patriots joined in. With many coming and going and others staying longer the peak number was 1500 to 2000. Sorry I was operating without my 17mm lens so I was unable to take a crowd photo wider that 28mm. The shot above shows approx. 1/3 of the peak crowd.
