Islamic Triumphalism: Cruel Lessons From History for New York City -Part I

By El Marco

The Center for Security Policy recently produced a powerful 1-minute video opposing the construction of the 13-story, $100 million mega-mosque near the site of the World Trade Center. The Twin Towers were destroyed on 9/11 by adherents to the supremacist and totalitarian program authoritative Islam calls “Shariah.” And the imam who is promoting this mosque has publicly declared that he seeks to “bring Shariah to America.”

As the ad makes clear, Muslim followers of Shariah law have long built mosques on the most cherished and sacred sites of the peoples they have conquered – on Jerusalem’s Temple Mount, at Constantinople’s St. Sophia Basilica (now Istanbul), and in Cordoba, Spain, the capital of the occupying Moors’ Islamic kingdom. Many Hindu and Buddhist temples also were destroyed in Asia and now lay underneath prominent mosques. These are the “facts on the ground”  of Islamic conquest and religious supercessionism.

To be fair, one must acknowledge that this is exactly what Constantine the Great and later Roman emperors did, after considerable bloodletting, when they replaced pagan temples with Christian churches. The Spanish in the New World also built many churches on the sites of Mayan, Aztec and Inca temples. This is just one exoteric aspect of supercessionism. Militant supercessionism has no place in the modern world, and should be seen for what it is: an ancient handmaiden of conquest that should be banished to the dustbin of history.

In Jerusalem the Dome of the Rock is seen here, perched atop the Temple Mount, the site of two Jewish national temples.

The First Temple was built by King Solomon in the 10th century B.C. It was destroyed by the Babylonians in 586 B.C. The Second Temple was rebuilt in 515 B.C. after Jerusalem was freed from Babylonian captivity. That temple was destroyed by the Roman Empire in A.D. 70. Each temple stood for a period of about four centuries.

The Temple was the center of religious worship for ancient Israelites. It housed the Holy of Holies, which contained the Ark of the Covenant and was said to be the area upon which God’s presence dwelt. All biblical holidays centered on worship at the Temple.

The Kotel or “Wailing Wall” is seen in the foreground. The Dome of the Rock was placed as a mocking symbol of triumph and supersession over both Judaism and Christianity. Bernard Lewis is one of the world’s leading scholars of Islamic history. Here is what he wrote about the location of the Dome of the Rock Mosque:

“The choice is significant. Jerusalem is never mentioned in the Qur’an. Even the name “Jerusalem” does not figure in early Muslim writings.”

Jerusalem is mentioned in the Hebrew Bible Over 650 times. Of course New York City is not mentioned in the Koran either, but islamists are interested in it for the same reasons that they wanted Jerusalem 14 centuries ago: Islamic Colonial Imperialism.

The Wailing Wall with it’s monolithic stones is actually the western retaining wall of the Temple Mount. The Romans killed, enslaved and exiled millions of Israelis. Jews have mourned the event for millennia and this is as close as muslims have allowed them to worship to their holiest site. The photo above shows many Bar Mitzva ceremonies being performed for poor families on a thursday afternoon recently.

The photo below shows Jewish boys participating in a a group Bar Mitzva.

Directly above this plaza sit the two arab mosques, the Dome of the Rock and the Al Aqsa. All too often after friday prayers muslims rush out of the mosques and hurl pre-positioned stones and pieces of concrete down on the jewish worshipers. Israeli riot police must respond to quell the attacks. This type of unprovoked violence is usually reported in the news as a “riot.”

An 8th century inscription on the exterior of the Al Aqsa mosque is a clear threat which still resonates with those who today seek to impose Islam and Sharia law on the world: “God’s religion is Islam …Let whoever disbelieves in the signs of God beware, for God is swift in reckoning.“

It is common to see soldiers praying at the wall before departing for duty. The cavern seen in the background holds a large prayer room and a public/religious registry. This area is where jewish worshipers have been injured by stones.

Whenever Arabs gather in the mosques Israeli police wait patiently outside the western wall, often for hours in the scorching sun, hoping that things remain calm. All entrances to the mosque area are monitored to prevent weapons or known terrorists from entering. The Kotel is about 40 feet down and to the left in this photo, taken through a wire and iron barrier from the Jewish quarter.

In the Jewish quarter of the old city there are spots like this where Jews can catch a glimpse of the Temple Mount. These students relax and enjoy the view from a rooftop area. In general Jews are not permitted to ascend to the Temple Mount. Tourists like me are allowed to enter and stroll around during limited visiting hours.

Islamic triumphalism has a very long and brutal history. The Dome of the Rock represents the first stop on Islam’s 1400 year path of conquest. Today the dual paths of terrorism and stealth jihad are making great inroads worldwide. Most New Yorkers and Americans are only just waking up to Islam’s accelerating push to implant Sharia law in western countries as well as large areas of Africa and Asia. The controversy of the mosque at ground zero has alerted Americans to how Islamic totalitarian Sharia law dictates world domination and the fact that radical islam must be opposed by free people.

A major Rally to Stop the Ground Zero Mosque will be held in New York near ground zero on September 11 2010. Below is a letter and appeal for donations from the organizers Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer.

Don’t spit in our face and tell us it’s raining. Over seventy percent of Americans oppose the Islamic supremacist mega-mosque at Ground Zero. We oppose it because it is an insult, an offense to the memories of those who were killed in the name of Islam at the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. We oppose it because it will be understood all over the Islamic world as a victory mosque marking that heinous mass-murder nine years ago. And we oppose it because the mosque leaders have an ever-lengthening record of dishonesty — dishonesty about their intentions, their funding, their support for jihad terrorism, and more.

We oppose the mega-mosque because we believe in the freedom of speech, which the Ground Zero mosque Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf has called for restricting. We stand for the freedom of conscience and the equality of rights of all people before the law, which the Sharia that Rauf defends and propagates would deny to free people.

A giant mosque looking down at the cemetery of Ground Zero from the location of a building that was partially destroyed in the 9/11 Islamic jihad attack on America is wrong. It is indecent. The Burlington Coat Factory building, severely damaged when part of one of the 9/11 planes crashed through its roof, is Ground Zero.

On June 6, we organized a protest against the mega-mosque that was attended by 8,000 to 10,000 people. And now we’re inviting you to join us again on September 11 at 3PM, at the corner of Park Place and West Broadway in lower Manhattan. We chose September 11 because reports have indicated that the Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf and Daisy Khan said that they would break ground on the tenth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks: September 11, 2011.

We will honor the victims and all Americans, and fill Ground Zero with patriots. We will begin with a brief memorial service honoring the victims, and are not starting our rally until the morning memorial services for the victims are concluded.

Our rally will be on September 11 at 3PM in lower Manhattan, at the corner of Park Place and West Broadway.

Speakers will include 9/11 family members, former U.S. Ambassador to the UN John Bolton; Dutch freedom fighter Geert Wilders (LIVE!); journalist Andrew Breitbart (either live or via video stream); NY Senate candidate Gary Berntsen; war hero and NC Congressional candidate Ilario Pantano; actress and activist Susan Olsen (Cindy Brady on TV’s Brady Bunch); NY Congressional candidate and 9/11 first responder Michael Grimm; Coptic Christian activist Joseph Nassralla; a spokesman for the ACLJ, and other freedom fighters and proud Americans

Our expenses for this are enormous. The staging and video screen for the speakers who will be joining us remotely costs over $12,000 alone. We also have to hire a large number of security guards: our speakers need to be guarded from the proponents of “tolerance” and “multiculturalism.” Both of us have received recent, specific death threats from the supporters of the “moderate” Ground Zero mosque. And we need people patrolling through the crowd, ejecting plants and agitators trying to create an incident that the Leftist media can exploit to tar opponents of the mosque as racists and bigots. We need money for posters, fliers, press releases, food and lodging for speakers, and more.

It’s a massive undertaking, and we need your help. Our total expenses for this rally could exceed $50,000. Politico is answering Nancy Pelosi’s authoritarian, un-American call to investigate opponents of the mosque, and is nosing around our finances — all they’ll discover is that we have no huge donations, and are relying on the support of free Americans to make this rally a reality. Please consider giving $100. If we could find just 500 people who could each give that amount, we would be able to meet most or all of our expenses. If you can’t give $100, please give what you can and what you think this cause warrants. Donations to Jihad Watch will be devoted to the mosque rally, and are tax-deductible.

Make your tax-deductible donation here.

Thank you for your stand for liberty.

Yours in defense of freedom,
Pamela Geller
Robert Spencer
