TEA PARTY MOVEMENT DENOUNCES MEDIA CORRUPTION

Nation-wide Protest Rallies Aimed at Biased “STATE MEDIA”

October 19, 2009, Denver, CO  –  by EL MARCO

In more than 100 cities across the U.S. protesters converged on newspaper and television offices Saturday to denounce the liberal-left bias in national and international reporting. These latest rallies are a response to blatantly biased media coverage of the center-right taxpayer protests, which began in February as a response to Washington’s unprecedented deficit spending. The “Teaparty” movement gathered steam through the spring and summer with a series of nationwide rallies. On September 12th a massive Tea party was staged in Washington DC.

These people are fed up with the MSM’s dishonest news coverage. When a million of these taxpayers swamped the nation’s capital on September 12 2009, big media dismissed them as angry racists and reported only tens of thousands. The Daily Mail the second largest newspaper in England headlined the event: A million march to US Capitol to protest against ‘Obama the socialist’.

_MG_0198

I have personally experienced being in crowds of over one million on three occasions. Once in Santo Domingo, at a Partido Revolucionario Dominicano (PRD) march and rally in the late 1980s. I spent eight hours photographing that crowd. My second experience was when the people of Bali, rallied in support of Megawati Sukarnoputri when she visited Denpasar in the late 1990’s. She was later elected President of Indonesia. Both of those rallies were documented by national newspapers to have exceeded 1 million people.

I was also in Washington DC on 9/12, and I believe based on what I saw there, that 9/12 was a similar rally of over a million.

The “tea party patriots” have been denigrated and attacked repeatedly by corporate media giants and administration officials in the most vicious and lewd terms. They were called racists, nazis, and teabaggers by media and government elites. The size and demeanor of all these rallies goes under-reported or misreported and downgraded. Saturdays “Can You Hear Us Now” rallies in dozens of cities across the U.S. are a direct response to unethical liberal media misreporting in politics, both domestic and foreign.

My first full exposure to an American dominant media “big lie” was during the run-up to the 1992 presidential election. In March of 1992 President George Bush Sr. was considered unbeatable with an approval rating of 90% due largely to the collapse of the Soviet Union and a stunning Gulf war victory. Bill Clintons campaign decided to attack Bush on the economy. The only problem was that the economy was flat, or debatably in one of the mildest recessions ever recorded. Inflation was low and so was unemployment. The Clinton campaign boldly adopted the lines ” George Bush has the worst economic record of any president in 50 years” and “worst economy since the great depression”. I was amazed when the vast majority of print and television media reported and repeated these lines month after month without laughing. I’m not an economic wizard but I did know that president Jimmy Carter presided over an ever worsening economy with 18% inflation, double digit unemployment, and interest rates over 18%.

As a recent immigrant to the U.S. I was very interested in watching an American presidential election up close but I was unprepared for what transpired. Bill Clinton won the 1992 election with easily refutable lies fed to an overtly partisan media frenzy. As I watched it all unfold on television I felt as if America had failed my expectations. Prior to the 92 election I had resided in the Dominican Republic for a decade and observed three elections there and had not seen the media behave so poorly.

_MG_0091xMarchers adjacent to NBC news in Denver were completely ignored by the news giant this past Saturday.

In January 1993 a survey of the Congressional Press Gallery quantified what I had suspected. It revealed that 89% of the press had voted Democrat and 7% had voted Republican. The Freedom Forum survey of Capitol Hill correspondents and Washington bureau chiefs was widely accepted as accurate. Even the far-left media watchdog group, Fairness and Accuracy in Reporting, did not challenge the data. There is a long history of this type of voting pattern among the media elite in America.

Since that fateful 1992 election the American public has watched a steady trashing of the ethics of reporting as the dominant liberal media dutifully promotes the democrat party’s candidate du jour. Contrary to liberal belief, not all Americans are stupid and more and more recognize and reject left-wing ideas. The mainstream media (MSM) is losing customers in droves as a center right nation rejects the radical left template of political correctness, which is a form of mind control. It is into this journalistic void that Rush Limbaugh claimed territory with his “relentless pursuit of the truth” style of media criticism. Limbaugh is a critic of the corrupt liberal media culture first and foremost and they can’t stand the scrutiny. “Never pick a fight with somebody who buys ink by the barrel” is the old maxim, but that didn’t deter Rush and his success as the single most listened to voice in America has the media elite leftists fit for straightjackets.

This past week the Dominant Liberal Media went on the attack against Rush with invented quotes plucked off the internet without even the pretense of fact-checking. An Example:

“You know who deserves a posthumous Medal of Honor? James Earl Ray. We miss you, James. Godspeed.”

Here is what Britain’s largest daily newspaper The Telegraph had to say about in case you weren’t on the planet last week and you missed the whole thing.

“The irony is, of course, that the people reporting this as fact are the same types who are always denouncing bloggers and the internet as forces of evil intent on destroying proper journalism – proper journalism being the kind that involves checking facts. Even those who have been primary movers in spreading these malicious falsehoods – which would lead to payouts of hundreds of thousands in British libel courts if lawsuits were ever filed there – are brazenly unapologetic.”                                     Telegraph article

Limbaugh

“Why they’re doing it has nothing to do with truth, either, and I address this in my Wall Street Journal op-ed tomorrow.  Race — the sad thing is, and I predicted just this.  I hate to sound like a broken record, but I predicted this when people asked me, “Hey, Rush, if Obama wins, isn’t that the end of racism?  No, it’s only going to get worse.  What’s happening here is that the subject of race is being used as a sledgehammer to silence opposition to liberalism.  It’s not designed to silence opposition to black people or any of that.  It’s being used to frighten people into shutting up and not opposing Obama, not opposing any liberal advancement of their ideas.  It’s being used, and it is a cancer on our culture, it’s a cancer in our country, and it is growing, it is being used specifically for that reason.”   –   Rush on the radio Friday Sept. 16 2009

This was a worldwide smear akin to what was done by the Democrat party and the MSM, to Clarence Thomas in his Supreme Court confirmation hearing. At the time Clarence Thomas accused Democrat Senators/inquisitors of a high-tech lynching. A rumor that Rush belonged to a country club that didn’t allow blacks was also disseminated. It’s the same club that denied entry to a Jewish man, Sammy Davis Jr. in the early 70’s. Rush was a kid in bloody Missouri back then.

What the Liberals don’t bother to mention is that in recent years Rush has invited Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas to dine with him at that club. Not news worthy because it’s not segregated. Just another lie. Justice Clarence Thomas is the same man who officiated at Rush’s wedding a few years ago. They also won’t mention that Bo Snerdly aka James Golden has been whispering in Rush’s earphones 3 hours a day, 5 days a week, for 20 years now. That’s right, Rush’s closest associate and friend is as described by the NYTimes “a very large man in a Huey Newton beret”. Rush, unlike most white liberals, has black men in his life. But the liberal racists won’t tell you that because it would give up their disgusting game. Rush, again unlike liberals, doesn’t exploit his black friends by running around telling everyone about his black friends to prove how cool he is.

Oh and don’t forget to tell your liberal friends to listen to the amazing Prof. of Economics Walter E. Williams when he fills in for Rush behind the Golden EIB microphone. He has been guest-hosting for years and he’s “clean and articulate” like Obama. Unlike Obama however, Prof. Williams is honest, and a genius, and would make a truly great president.

A perfect example of editorial misconduct unfolded right before my lens at the Can You Hear Us Now protest in Denver Saturday afternoon. After I took this photo the protesters moved from NBC, down the street to ABC news headquarters. What happened next gives a sad look at the arrogance of big liberal editors and staff.

_MG_0111

_MG_0103Here are the Tea Partyers as they arrived at the entrance to the ABC 7 News building.

_MG_0138

After about 45 minutes these three emerged from the building. By their demeanor and their lack of press credentials, I would guess that they are interns at ABC News.

_MG_0137

They appeared unfamiliar with the tripod they were carrying.

_MG_0138-2

The young reporterette activated a recording device, which she kept hidden in a bag that she clutched to her chest as she casually spoke to people.

_MG_0152

And who did this intrepid news crew decide to feature? Was it this lady? Noooooo…

_MG_0165

How about this lady? Looks like she has an opinion. Nooooooo again.

_MG_0174

Our news crew chose……..

_MG_0175

…these 9/11 truthers. Note shadows of news crew with camera tripod as these infiltraters parade for the ABC cameraman. The camera is surrounded by people with signs at the curb but pointed towards the only people not carrying signs!

_MG_0175-3

These guys, with the ABC Building behind them, carried no signs and film their own activities just like their cult leader Alex Jones. One of them had a bullhorn and a press credential issued by their own truther splinter group. They had nothing to do with any of the Tea Party organizing groups. WHAT A SCOOP!

_MG_0176

Above is the one person who was interviewed on camera. He’s wearing a Resist the new world order, vintage anti-Bush daddy T-shirt, and he has his press credential issued by an organization whose acronym rhymes with whack. This has to be the first time in history a “reporter” has carried a bullhorn to an event which he is “reporting” on. When this guy first arrived on the scene, he chanted “Ron Paul is Right!” and I laughed when some folks lined up on the curb with their signs chanted back “Ron Paul is Wrong.”

_MG_0183

Immediately after filming the truthers, the cameraman exited stage right. These ladies approached the reporterette and asked her politely if they weren’t going to interview anyone else. The newsgirl answered to the effect of “Well, the cameraman is gone, so I don’t know.”

_MG_0184

The ladies were stunned. It was pointed out to the newsgirl that the truthers were not part of the demonstration and were not part of the Tea Party movement, but were actually people who believe that George Bush Jr. was responsible for knocking down the Twin Towers. During this conversation I noticed that the newsgirl was holding her bag in her hands at chest level directed towards these two women. Was she recording without informing them? It certainly looked like that to me. She said very little and appeared disinterested even bored by their questions.

“The traditional media are playing a very, very dangerous game — with their readers, with the Constitution and with their own fates.”  Michael S. Malone

Two weeks before the 2008 presidential election ABC veteran news reporter Michael S. Malone wrote a landmark column titled “Medias Presidential Bias and Decline”. A top insider and fourth generation newspaperman, Mr. Malone’s first sentence was “The traditional media are playing a very, very dangerous game — with their readers, with the Constitution and with their own fates.”  Rare and ominous words of truth from inside ABC News. Following are excerpts from Malone’s column.

The sheer bias in the print and television coverage of this election campaign is not just bewildering, but appalling. And over the last few months I’ve found myself slowly moving from shaking my head at the obvious one-sided reporting, to actually shouting at the screen of my television and my laptop computer.
But worst of all, for the last couple weeks, I’ve begun — for the first time in my adult life — to be embarrassed to admit what I do for a living. A few days ago, when asked by a new acquaintance what I did for a living, I replied that I was “a writer,” because I couldn’t bring myself to admit to a stranger that I’m a journalist.

“The sheer bias in the print and television coverage of this election campaign is not just bewildering, but appalling. (Over the years) I watched with disbelief as the nation’s leading newspapers, many of whom I’d written for in the past, slowly let opinion pieces creep into the news section, and from there onto the front page. Personal opinions and comments that, had they appeared in my stories in 1979, would have gotten my butt kicked by the nearest copy editor, were now standard operating procedure at the New York Times, the Washington Post, and soon after in almost every small town paper in the U.S.”

_MG_0116

“But what really shattered my faith — and I know the day and place where it happened — was the war in Lebanon three summers ago. The hotel I was staying at in Windhoek, Namibia, only carried CNN, a network I’d already learned to approach with skepticism. But this was CNN International, which is even worse.

I sat there, first with my jaw hanging down, then actually shouting at the TV, as one field reporter after another reported the carnage of the Israeli attacks on Beirut, with almost no corresponding coverage of the Hezbollah missiles raining down on northern Israel. The reporting was so utterly and shamelessly biased that I sat there for hours watching, assuming that eventually CNNi would get around to telling the rest of the story, but it never happened.

But nothing, nothing I’ve seen has matched the media bias on display in the current presidential campaign.”

_mg_01821 El Marco reported here.

“Republicans are justifiably foaming at the mouth over the sheer one-sidedness of the press coverage of the two candidates and their running mates. But in the last few days, even Democrats, who have been gloating over the pass — no, make that shameless support — they’ve gotten from the press, are starting to get uncomfortable as they realize that no one wins in the long run when we don’t have a free and fair press.

…what I object to (and I think most other Americans do as well) is the lack of equivalent hardball coverage of the other side — or worse, actively serving as attack dogs for the presidential ticket of Sens. Barack Obama, D-Ill., and Joe Biden, D-Del.”

_MG_0040

“If the current polls are correct, we are about to elect as president of the United States a man who is essentially a cipher, who has left almost no paper trail, seems to have few friends (that at least will talk) and has entire years missing out of his biography.

Why, for example to quote the lawyer for Republican presidential nominee Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., haven’t we seen an interview with Sen. Obama’s grad school drug dealer — when we know all about Mrs. McCain’s addiction? Are Bill Ayers and Tony Rezko that hard to interview? All those phony voter registrations that hard to scrutinize? And why are Sen. Biden’s endless gaffes almost always covered up, or rationalized, by the traditional media?”

_MG_0043

“The absolute nadir (though I hate to commit to that, as we still have two weeks before the election) came with Joe the Plumber.

Middle America, even when they didn’t agree with Joe, looked on in horror as the press took apart the private life of an average person who had the temerity to ask a tough question of a presidential candidate. So much for the standing up for the little man. So much for speaking truth to power. So much for comforting the afflicted and afflicting the comfortable, and all of those other catchphrases we journalists used to believe we lived by.

…I also happen to believe that most reporters, whatever their political bias, are human torpedoes & and, had they been unleashed, would have raced in and roughed up the Obama campaign as much as they did McCain’s. That’s what reporters do. I was proud to have been one, and I’m still drawn to a good story, any good story, like a shark to blood in the water.

So why weren’t those legions of hungry reporters set loose on the Obama campaign? Who are the real villains in this story of mainstream media betrayal?

The editors. The men and women you don’t see; the people who not only decide what goes in the paper, but what doesn’t; the managers who give the reporters their assignments and lay out the editorial pages. They are the real culprits.” Michael S. Malone ABC News

_MG_0155

The only other “reporter” I saw during three hours that I was on the scene at ABC and NBC was this man. All the news editors in the city must have more important stories to cover like the traffic and weather and balloon boy.

Also Dick Morris, Bill Clintons former top adviser has written an extremely important book  Catastrophe.

In Catastrophe, Morris and McGann take a hard look at America in free fall—and at how Obama is transforming a vulnerable America into a socialist state.

They tell the truth about Obama and his radical policies:

  • He will destroy our health care system so that no one gets adequate care.
  • He designed his bank rescue plan to pave the way for nation-alization of the banks and socialization of the economy.
  • He firmly believes in government control of our major industries—he’s already commandeered the banks and the automobile industry.
  • He plans to reshape the political landscape to keep the left in power for decades by cooking the census, enfranchising illegal immigrants, muzzling talk radio, and coercing workers into unions.
  • He is attacking those who fight terrorism while letting the terrorists go free.
  • He gives aid to Hamas while Shariah Law threatens to take over America.
  • He has repealed the Declaration of Independence and put us under a worldwide, European-dominated financial regulatory system.
