CARTOONS TO DIE FOR – Everybody Draw Mohammed Day
Humor-challenged “Religion of Peace” is out for blood.
Today is “Everybody Draw Mohammed Day”. If you don’t know what that is I will try to explain. It all started on September 30, 2005, when the Danish newspaper, Jyllands-Posten, published twelve drawings of Islam’s founder, Mohammed. The cultural editor of the paper commissioned the twelve drawings after he became aware that artists were unwilling to work with a children’s book author on a book about Islam and Mohammed. Apparently, artists were fearful of Europe’s increasingly violent and overtly radical muslim population.
Although the publication of the “Danish cartoons” provoked only local peaceful protest, a group of “Danish Imams” seized the opportunity to create conflict. In the months following publication, the troublemaking Imams toured the middle east with a folio that included the twelve drawings as well as others which they falsely attributed to the newspaper. The extra images included depictions that the Imams said were meant to show Mohammed as a pig. Mark Steyn commented:
… the three most offensive of the “Danish cartoons” — including the one showing Mohammed as a pig —were not by any Jyllands-Posten cartoonists but were actually faked by Scandinavian imams for the purposes of stirring up outrage among Muslims. As Mr Gillespie says:
It is nothing less than amazing that holy men decrying the desecration of their religion would create such foul images, but there you have it. It is as if the pope created “Piss Christ” and then passed it off as the work of critics of Catholicism.
So, if it really is a sin to depict Mohammed, then these imams will be roasting in hell. (Unless, of course, taqqiya permits Muslims to break their own house rules for the purpose of sticking it to the infidels.)
But, that aside, the clerics’ action underlines what’s going on: the real provocateurs are the perpetually aggrieved and ever more aggressive Islamic bullies — emboldened by the silence of “moderate Muslims” and the preemptive capitulation of western media.
They lied to incite violence and in the riots that followed, at least 139 people were killed in Pakistan, Afghanistan, and most of all in Nigeria. In the last four and a half years, embassies have been burned in a number of countries, and muslim threats of violence against artists, newspapers, and book publishers are daily occurrences.
The above photograph shows a man in New York City wearing the most famous of the twelve Danish cartoons. It is known as Bombhead Mohammad. In 2006, I was photographing a rally of Hisbolla supporters and their American communist allies in Brooklyn. As they chanted for the death of Israel, this young Dutchman in an artistic act of defiance to Islamo-nazism approached with a video camera. He instantly received an extremely spittle laden reaction from the Islamists and Marxists. The police intervened immediately and ordered him to put away his camera and leave the area for his own safety. Two policemen guarded his back as he left the area.
Kurt Westergaard, the Danish cartoonist who drew Bombhead Moe for Jyllands-Posten, has been forced to live under police protection for years. In January, 2010 he was attacked in his home by an axe-wielding Islamist. Westergaard narrowly escaped death, and police shot the Somali jihadist after he threw the axe at them.
… the assailant had close relations to Al-Shabaab, a Somali terror group, as well as to Al-Qaeda leaders in eastern Africa. He had been under surveillance by intelligence, although not in connection with any plot against Westergaard.
He has been the intended victim of at least two plots foiled by police. In one, two Tunisians planned to decapitate him in his home.
Two other would-be attackers from Chicago were charged in October with planning to kill Westergaard and Flemming Rose, the cultural editor of Jyllands-Posten who has called the bomb cartoon “a great cultural icon of the 21st century”.
He puts a brave face on his plight. “At my age you are not so much afraid any more,” he told The Sunday Times last year. He has no regrets about the cartoon, whose original is locked in a bank vault, defending Denmark’s tradition of democracy and freedom of speech. He seems resigned to a life on the run. “This will go on for the rest of my life. There is no way out,” he said. TIMES UK
In 2008, another moslem group planning the cartoonists murder was detected and arrested which prompted Westergaard to create the drawing below.
Here is his description of the drawing:
“It is me on the right. My head is about to explode of anger concerning the insult to my person. At the same time I am angry about the actions of terror in New York, Madrid and London. I had a special personal relation to New York. I loved to sit in the wonderful bookstore, Borders, in the World Trade Center. To the left I have added the old drawing of Mohammad, because it started it all. The hare symbolizes my own personal courage, which is not that big. It is the part of me, which maybe prefers to get away, and that cannot control everything.” Infidel Bloggers
Sadly Westergaard’s life has been shattered and he now is trying to put the evil eastern genie back in the bottle.
Islamic terrorist intimidation has gone so far that Comedy Central TV network has now imposed censorship on the equal-opportunity offenders Matt Stone and Trey Parker for one of their milder episodes of the cartoon show South Park. In the censored episode that was aired, but later “pulled”, Buddha is shown snorting cocaine off a table while Jesus sits next to him surfing pornography on a laptop. Comedy Central did not deem those images offensive enough for censorship. Much milder images of Mohammed were blacked out by the network, and even the word Mohammed was deemed to risky to air and repeatedly bleeped. Matt Stone and Trey Parker, who are from Colorado, received death threats after the program aired.
Outraged by the threats to Stone and Parker a young Seattle cartoonist named Molly Norris sent an email poster to bloggers calling them to action. She wrote: “We hereby deem May 20, 2010, as the first annual “Everybody Draw Mohammed Day!” Do your part to both water down the pool of targets and, oh yeah, defend a little something our country is famous for (but maybe not for long? Comedy Central cooperated with terrorists and pulled the episode) the first amendment” Her appeal went viral. A Facebook page was established, and fans linked went from 39,000 on May 18 to 52,000 May 19th. Norris has since backed away, hoping to avoid the state of terror that Westergaard lives with.
Moslem cartoon protest New York City
Many Moslems claim that images of Mohammed are forbidden by Islam, but that assertion is discredited by their own long historical record of creating such images. The blogger and citizen-journalist, Zombie, has done groundbreaking work compiling that history.
In 1999, Islamic art expert Wijdan Ali wrote a scholarly overview of the Muslim tradition of depicting Mohammed. In that essay, Ali demonstrates that the prohibition against depicting Mohammed did not arise until as late as the 16th or 17th century, despite the media’s recent false claims that it has always been forbidden for Muslims to draw Mohammed. Until comparatively recently in Islamic history, it was perfectly common to show Mohammed… Even after the 17th century, up to modern times, Islamic depictions of Mohammed (especially in Shi’ite areas) continued to be produced. – Zombietime
Mohammed said, “I was shown the Hell-fire and that the majority of its dwellers are women. “ Vol. 1:28, 301; Vol. 2:161; Vol. 7:124 of Hadith: “Sahih Al-Bukhari”
Mohammed’s teachings are included in what is called “Hadith.” The “Hadith” is a record of Mohammed’s words and deeds according to his wives, relatives, and companions. Next to the Quran, it is the most important part of Islamic law; its teachings are just as binding. Al Bukhari is accepted by most Muslims as the authentic words of Mohammed. – Islam Review
On February 17th, 2006, as cartoon anger and violence spread throughout the world, moslems in New York staged a protest in front of the Danish Consulate, near the United Nations Building. Moslem girls (photo above) were bussed from the Al-Noor school in Brooklyn to march and scream slogans in Arabic. About half the girls did not look very happy about being forced to participate. Women in Islam have good reason to fear Allah.
Mohammed, along with Buraq and Gabriel, visit Hell, and see a demon punishing “shameless women” who had exposed their hair to strangers. For this crime of inciting lust in men, the women are strung up by their hair and burned for eternity. Persian, 15th century.
The Prophet (the blessing and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “I saw paradise and stretched my hands towards a bunch (of its fruits) and had I taken it, you would have eaten from it as long as the world remains. I also saw the Hell-fire and I had never seen such a horrible sight. I saw that most of the inhabitants were women.” The people asked: “O Allah’s Apostle! Why is it so?” The Prophet (the blessing and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “Because of their ungratefulness.” It was asked whether they are ungrateful to Allah. The Prophet (the blessing and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “They are ungrateful to their companions of life (husbands) and ungrateful to good deeds.”
Sahih Al-Bukhari, Dr. Muhammad Matraji, tr. (New Delhi: Islamic Book Service, 2002), Number 1052
Next, Mohammed sees women strung up by hooks thrust through their tongues by a green demon. Their crimes were to “mock” their husbands and to leave their homes without permission. Persian, 15th century .
[Muhammad said], “O women! Give to charity, for I have seen that the majority of the dwellers of Hell-Fire were women.” The women asked, “O Allah’s Apostle! What is the reason for it?” He said: “O women! You curse frequently, and are ungrateful to your husbands. I have not seen anyone more deficient in intelligence and religion than you. O women, some of you can lead a cautious man astray.”
Sahih Al-Bukhari, Dr. Muhammad Matraji, tr. (New Delhi: Islamic Book Service, 2002), Number 1462
Further on, Mohammed sees a red demon that is torturing women by hanging them up by hooks through their breasts, as they are engulfed in flames. The women are being punished for giving birth to illegitimate children who they falsely claimed were fathered by their husbands. Persian, 15th century.
However, even if these women were to stop cursing and to start thanking their husbands, their prospects for the afterlife would still leave much to be desired. According to Muhammad, Muslim women can look forward to an eternity of standing in corners, waiting for men to come and have sex with them:
Allah’s Apostle (The blessing and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “In Paradise there is a pavilion made of a single hollow pearl sixty miles wide, in each corner of which there are wives who will not see those in the other corners; and the believers will visit and enjoy them.”
Sahih Al-Bukhari, Dr. Muhammad Matraji, tr. (New Delhi: Islamic Book Service, 2002), Number 4879
Hence, good Muslim women who respect their husbands in this life will have the opportunity to continue their sexual service to their husbands in “Paradise.” – Answering Islam
Illustration from “Mohammed’s Believe It or Not” comic book.
About half the girls at the 2006 Danish cartoon protest were clearly fanatical. As they followed orders from adult female handlers (teachers?), I was horrified by the spectacle of young people behaving like crazed robots, in a free country. Some of the girls wore an expression on their faces that I interpreted as tormented, bordering on insanity, like the two girls on the right above. From their conversational english I surmised that many were recent arrivals in this hemisphere.
The satirical website The Peoples Cube created this poster as part of their “Everybody Draw a POSITIVE Mohammed Day“
“Everybody has heard by now about Everybody Draw Mohammed Day on May 20 – a grassroots campaign sparked by Islamist death threats to South Park’s Kenny McCormick, Eric Cartman, and Kyle Broflovsky. The general presumption is that on this day the Internet is going to be filled with negative images of Mohammed. Not true.
We on this site are sounding our unanimous NO to negativity! We are preemptively opposing it with our own positive, loving images of Mohammed that will raise awareness and educate the nonbelievers about the correct way to treat the Muslim community and vice versa.”
One Moslem woman who knows that sheets don’t belong on women is Rima Fakih who was crowned Miss USA last Sunday night. Yes, there is a god and he loves women.
Winston Churchill, as a young man, fought against the slavery and oppression of Islam in Sudan, and wrote a book about it. He clearly saw that Islam imposes a hateful oppression on women akin to slavery. He also saw that Islam posed a mortal threat to European civilization. Today, as Iran pursues nuclear weapons using western technology, his words are a prophetic warning for today’s western nations.
A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement; the next of its dignity and sanctity. The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property, either as a child, a wife, or a concubine, must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men.
Individual Moslems may show splendid qualities, but the influence of the religion paralyses the social development of those who follow it.
No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith. It has already spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors at every step; and were it not that Christianity is sheltered in the strong arms of science, the science against which it had vainly struggled, the civilization of modern Europe might fall, as fell the civilization of ancient Rome.
— Sir Winston Churchill (The River War, first edition, Vol. II, pages 248-50 [London: Longmans, Green & Co., 1899]).
Today, the “fearless warriors” of Islam that Churchill spoke of are the terrorists and suicide bombers that are on the attack from Bali to Times Square. Among the cartoon protesters in New York were men like this, who are declaring their intentions in public and without fear of arrest. This protest took place directly adjacent to Ralph Bunche Park, across the street from the United Nations. One side of the park is a granite wall inscribed with the famous quotation from Isaiah 2:4: “They shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.” In the United Nations Garden is the sculpture by Yevgeni Vuchetich symbolizing man’s some people’s (the Jeeeeews) desire to put an end to war.
Moslems protesting the existence of the Jewish people in front of the Israeli Consulate in New York. Note the black Islamic war banner flying over the White House.
This Peoples Cube poster shows a positive bizarro-world Mohammed.
Mohammed’s Flight from Mecca in 622 AD; Algerian color postcard from the 1920s or ’30s. Mohammed is the figure entering the cave. The original postcard is in a private collection. The french translation of the Arabic reads “Flight of Mohammed from Mecca, followed by the Qurayza”. The Qurayza were Jews who had lived in Arabia for more than a thousand years side by side with the pre-islamic Arabs. Mohammed killed or enslaved all Arabs or Jews who would not submit to him. When he defeated the Qurayza “people of the book” he punished them for refusing to submit to Islam.
According to Muhammad’s sacralized biography by Ibn Ishaq, Muhammad himself sanctioned the massacre of the Qurayza, a vanquished Jewish tribe. some 600 to 900 men from the Qurayza were led on Muhammad’s order to the Market of Medina. Trenches were dug and the men were beheaded, and their decapitated corpses buried in the trenches while Muhammad watched in attendance. Women and children were sold into slavery, a number of them being distributed as gifts among Muhammad’s companions, and Muhammad chose one of the Qurayza women (Rayhana) for himself. The Qurayza’s property and other possessions (including weapons) were also divided up as additional “booty” among the Muslims, to support further jihad campaigns. – Andrew G. Bostom
Their bones remain buried in the trenches beneath the pavement of Medinas market today. Saudis delight in their knowledge of this fact which is recorded in their holy books.
The best history to draw from to know Mohammed is the Koran and Hadith. Most of what is in the Koran comes directly from the mind of Mohammed, or as Moslems believe, from Allah through Mohammed, Allah’s last prophet. As westerners spend more and more of their time with electronic entertainment, few are willing to put in the effort to read the Koran to understand what kind of man Mohammed was. We have already seen from Islamic images and scripture what Mohammed thought about the value of women. Now let’s look at how cartoons can teach lazy western minds important historical lessons about Mohammed’s way of thinking.
Mohammed receiving his first revelation from the angel Gabriel. Miniature illustration on vellum from the book Jami’ al-Tawarikh (literally “Compendium of Chronicles” but often referred to as The Universal History or History of the World), by Rashid al-Din, published in Tabriz, Persia, 1307 A.D. Now in the collection of the Edinburgh University Library, Scotland.
Mohammed never learned to read, so as a young man he learned Bible stories and about the angel Gabriel orally from Christians and Jews who lived in the towns and cities of Arabia. Later in his life, the angel Gabriel plays a central role in the stories that Mohammed related to those who recorded his “revelations” in the Koran. One such story is the one Mohammed told about Gabriel’s Zam Zam water.
The cartoon below takes its words from Bukhari, Volume 1, Book 8, Number 345. The cartoon is from “Mohammed’s Believe It or Not” comic book.
I think by now you should know where this is going. Yes, Mohammed did not like dogs. In fact, he hated man’s best friend. At first, he ordered all dogs in Arabia killed. It is not recorded how many were killed before some of his followers talked some sense into him. They pointed out that some dogs worked and were needed by the people. They persuaded Mohammed to modify Allah’s revelation and made an exception for hunting and herding dogs. All other dogs were killed.
So, on this Everybody Draw Mohammed Day, you don’t have to be a cartoonist to get in big trouble with Islam. If you are a woman (moslem or not), a jew, or just a little puppy, you already are in grave danger whether you believe it or not.
THE NEW FREE SPEECH MOVEMENT – by Zombie
Who Decides What Is Provocative?
This is not an argument over the right to be “provocative” or “offensive”; rather, is it something much more significant — an argument over who gets to determine what counts as provocative or offensive in the first place. The Western world dragged itself out of the church-dominated Dark Ages and into the Enlightenment in part over this precise issue: The freedom to engage in speech and actions which formerly had been classified as the crime known as “blasphemy.” It seems such a trivial and quaint issue in retrospect, and hardly worthy of note from our hyper-secularized 21st-century perspective, but tell that to the millions of people who for centuries lived under the yoke of governments which used accusations of blasphemy and other religious misbehaviors as a primary tool of tyranny and oppression. The modern world dawned with the American and French Revolutions and the emergence of the explicitly secular state — the Americans rejecting the Church of England as Britain’s legally enforced national religion, and the French shrugging off centuries of acquiescence to domination by the Catholic Church in civil affairs. In both cases, new governmental paradigms were established in which there was an inviolable separation of church and state, which in practice meant no civil laws enforcing religious doctrines and (most importantly for our discussion) no laws against blasphemy.
We’re now so accustomed to this liberated society that we have all but forgotten how horrible it was in the Bad Old Days before our Founding Fathers (wipes away tear) created a safe haven for the human mind, a place called the United States of America. The laws and punishments of the Puritans and of the Spanish Inquisition and all the rest were decisively and emphatically swept off the table and replaced with a simple principle: personal freedom. Freedom of conscience, freedom of thought, and freedom of speech.
Everybody Expects the Islamic Inquistion
Well, the Spanish Inquisition may be a distant memory now relegated to Monty Python skits, but the self-appointed Islamic Inquisition is threatening to take its place. Remember that the Spanish Inquisition (and the much larger papal inquisition which preceded it) existed for the purpose of enforcing religious dictates on the general populace, including and especially religious crimes such as heresy, blasphemy, and apostasy. Punishment for these deeds could be severe and often as not included torture or execution. This is exactly what the Islamic fundamentalists want to impose on us in the 21st century: Obedience to religious dictates, enforced where necessary by violence.
Luckily, outside of a few Middle Eastern countries, the Islamists do not have the power to enforce their hellish vision of society. But that doesn’t stop them from trying. Where they can’t impose their religious rules by force, they try to impose them by fear and intimidation. Since we have our freedoms permanently etched into our Constitution, the Islamists are going to have little luck getting blasphemy laws passed in the U.S. Yet they can achieve the same result if they can use terror to bring about our own self-censorship. Which is exactly what they have set about doing, the most recent round starting with the murder of Theo Van Gogh in 2004 and reaching the boiling point with the Danish Cartoon Controversy in 2006. The pot hasn’t stopped boiling since. The Islamists’ strategy is to kill, or threaten to kill, anyone who gets media attention for “disrespecting” Islam or Mohammed — thereby convincing the rest of us infidels to remain silent if we know what’s good for us. – Read the rest here

I found your website offending the most respectful man ( Mohammad peace be upon him or any of the prophet sent by God starting with Adam followed by Noah , Ibraham, Issac , Josef, Jacob, Moses and Jesus) I am as a Muslim woman believe in all them , and disrespect them will hurt my feelings , so I am politely asking you to leave them alone , you’ve never met them before to judge them now . And obviously the information you have about them especially Mohammad peace be upon him is not true.
If you really want to know Mohammad the prophet, human , husband and great leader am happy to help.

Hello Rasha,
You don’t understand because you don’t want to, I know many Muslim women who don’t even want to hear anything that might lead them astray (so vulnerable is the “right” path?)
I plead for you to reconsider, I don’t want to proselitize you with my speech, but rather clear you a obstacle ridden path in your life, any religion forces upon us death in philosofical terms, it stops your own development.
Is Mohammad worth the candle?
“you’ve never met them before to judge them now . And obviously the information you have about them especially Mohammad peace be upon him is not true.”
Well after reading that statement I recognize you are biased in a clear prejudice, you take yours for granted, but there are proven FACTS IN THE QUIRAN that are being constantly pointed out by infidels and later denied by Muslims, you can’t ask someone to politely remove a piece of information because it hurts your religious sense, this is an era and a place of abolished censorship, get used to it, if you don’t like the internet, IF THE WHOLE MUSLIM COMMUNITY DOESN’T LIKE THE WHATEVER THERE IS IN THE INTERNET, well, they can just as well reconsider either their feelings or the use of computers, one is not compatible with the other, I can’t walk into a Mosque to tell others I am an infidel and I find Islam offensive and expect myself to be spared, so can’t you log in to the internet and dare say you are Muslim and offended and expect to be taken at heart by a community that values OFFENSE, yes, west is offense and controversy and it is our tools of trade.
I wish all the best

[…] Cartoons To Die For [Translate] François Guillaumat 26/8/2010 […]
This is a Wonderful photojournalistic WebSite.
I’m Grateful you have the Time, Resources, and Inclination to do it.
Thank You, El Marco
Thanks Clifford;
Since I don’t have a “real” job, I have the time, but the resources are limited and so I do it on the cheap. My New York trip (ground zero mosque) cost 400 bucks for airfare from Colorado and bus fares in Manhattan and a few bottles of water. I stayed at a friends place where they fed me BBQ and berries and was back in CO in 4 days. Inclination or motivation is the big one as it takes a lot of effort. That is why I only post a few times a month. First I need to choose good photo subjects, of course, and then once I have the photos I have to put my brain in gear and that is the hard part.
I hope you took a good look at ZOMBIETIME. We do similar work and Zombie is also a groundbreaking investigative citizen-journalist, while I am really just a photographer and historical recorder.
Thanks for your kind comment, …… El Marco

I bought 2 copies around 2003 by mail. I doubt it’s available anymore. It came from Las Vegas. El Marco
MY SECOND POST:
I know Molly Norris. She is my friend and my former college student. I also live at ‘ground-zero’ of the EDMD, Seattle, WA: FRACAS-CITY.
Molly Norris sent her now infamous cartoon to Dan Savage, national blogger, and sex advice columnist for “The Stranger,” Seattle’s alternative weekly. Although Molly asked Savage to withdraw her cartoon, he ran with it for his own agenda; EBMD on Facebook.
For those of you unfamiliar with the antics of Dan Savage, let me give just one example: he publicly boasted ‘attempting to infect a Republican public figure with his flu virus!’ Do your homework: (this from a professor); then decide if this is REALLY the cause for which so many people have suffered lately.
Although I can’t speak for Molly Norris personally, I can tell you that her original intention has been wildly compromised. I was horrified to see the bigotry and hatred, and even violence spurned by all the depictions of EBDM.
I am ashamed to be an American. I feel great compassion for those who have been scape-goated by the antics of fundamentalists and fanatics from the full spectrum of the political agenda. What good can come from juvenile, mean-spirited cartoons that incite violence and further censorship?
“We the people” are ALL reasoned people who, from whatever religion or politic, who respect each other enough to have a dialogue. “They” are all the fanatics who hope to win, ‘by any means necessary–‘ even violent means.
This isn’t ‘free expression:’ this is Political-correctness! Ironically, this ‘blogger-fest’ dares to quote Ghandi, the champion of Non-violent protest, while inciting violence through hate speech. Political-correctness IS censorship because it is about AGENDAS, NOT FREEDOM. It is ALWAYS about AGENDAS, NOT PEOPLE.
Do you honestly believe that this will somehow liberate humans from the barbaric acts of fanatics (of every religion), or further the cause for freedom?
Here’s a question for my next quiz: Does anybody remember why we were looking for Osama Bin Laden, or where he’s hiding-out now? (HINT: probably not on FB)
Page Faulkner Mordecai, The Front Porch Talker
Reading your comments makes me glad I never went to college. Your writing is incoherent and shallow. Were you high when you wrote this? I feel sorry for your students. I’m not even an American and I’m ashamed you’re an American. El Marco
I know Molly Norris, both as a friend and as my former college student. I also live in Seattle, WA, ground-zero for the ‘Everybody Draw Mohammed’ cartoon she created.
I believe this issue has morphed into something more than The First Amendment Right: it is about Political-correctness, which has now reached a critical mass.
Although I can’t read a cartoonist’s mind (yet), but after reading over 2,000 blogs on the subject, I believe that neither Molly Norris nor anybody else could have predicted the firestorm of vituperative commentary and protests—for and against how our ‘First Amendment’ Rights should be expressed and against whom.
I am certain that Molly Norris did not intend to offend Muslims and has apologized profusely for having done so, believing naively perhaps, that this is our primo American Right.
However, This is not the first time (or the last) our freedom of expression has become incendiary, either (when the Ku Klux Klan expressed their “right” to march in the Jewish suburb of Skokie, IL; Rodney King and LA riots, for eg.).
Political-correctness, however, is the bigger issue, I believe. As a practice, post-seventies, this is nothing less than propaganda in action. Political correctness aims to censor us all: to say what sounds right, instead of what is right; to say that all opinions are diverse and equal, rather than some opinions have been earned through educating ourselves first.
Just because everybody CAN say whatever they wish, without the responsibility of using their real names, or the chance to respond in a reasoned dialogue, doesn’t mean that they should, as Molly Norris, in fact, did.
I know I sound like a Luddite here, but the internet network of blogs, Face Book, and the like have taken political-correctness to new heights, without all the original fuss-and-muss of speaking to each other in person, and owning what we say.
Professor, professor, professor. Where on earth did you learn to write sentences like this? Those who can’t do, teach? F minus for you, and a recommendation to trade school. Maybe basket weaving is up your alley. El Marco
Democracy Calling Islam.
If you prefer freedom for thought, word, and deed,
of the kind not physically destructive to others,
and not silencing or intimidating to mind,
you must be concise, and to the point,
of not allowing the theistic thugs of Islam their way,
and you must be the thinker not afraid to show
your displeasure and condemnation of a ‘holy book’,
i.e., their all-revered Koran of hate and infamy;
you must argue that their theistic impulse
is nothing less, or more, than mind’s bankruptcy,
and you must bear witness to the facts,
and then on to religion, in general, as it goes.
Those of contemporary European culture
who believe this is a debate for armchair philosophers,
wishing to leave bad enough alone,
likewise display a bankruptcy of mind.
They come across as intellectual cowards,
forgetting what we owe those who down through centuries
were tyrannized, tortured, burned, and killed,
directly as a result of religion and its thug-popes,
thug-prophets, and their henchmen thugs.
What do we owe them for their suffering,
which today ensures that we are free in mind and body?
How dare the apologists distance themselves from, e.g.,
an artist and his cartoon depicting a mentally disturbed man,
whose followers today are challenging our European values?
These theorists argue that the debate must move on,
and that accommodation must be found
for the inanities of the religion of Islam.
No ~
those who must move on are the Muslims,
the adherents of a belief-system incompatible with freedom,
and freedom is what this is all about preserving,
in honor and memory of those whose lives were taken.
No ~
compromise on the part of Western culture isn’t required;
only a clear and unequivocal “No, to yours!”,
and if it takes the re-printing, again and again,
of a cartoon of a mentally imbalanced individual
with a lit bomb in his turban, let it be so,
until finally his head is blown off.
Now,
dear sisters and brothers of Islam,
it isn’t easy to shed an identity
fed on the offal of a doctrine 1400 years old,
but you must grow up, and fast;
as the children of Aristotle,
and still in your juvenile years,
the civilized world is waiting,
and Democracy is calling!
Announcing Show Mohammed Day June 3rd: Rallies in Celebration of Freedom of Speech & Religion.
I’ve been seaching the net for true free speech supporters. I was disturbed seeing that Everybody Draws Mohammed day was taken over by those protesting against it who had organized rallies and got media attention. We need to show people that there are those who still believe in fee speech. I’ve been struggling to find ways to spread the word now that the Everybody Draws Mohammed facebook group has disappeared.. perhaps censored.
I’ve been forced to try posting around the net to find people to actually care enough to spread the word about organizing real rallies in support of free speech.
I hadn’t expected much to come of Everybody Draw Mohammed Day once the instigator
canceled it and there was no organized effort for rally’s in support of it. Little did I know there were so many in favor of censorship
that would arise and capture the day instead. I’d planned to to announce the new event yesterday on the wall of the
Everybody Draw Mohammed day facebook page.. only to discover when I was ready that it had disappeared. I thought it would be back
today but since it isn’t I need to find other ways to get the word out to suggest people being organizing real world rally’s in support
of freedom of speech and religion. I was hoping you might consider helping announce and spread the word about the group.
The facebook page is at
http://www.facebook.com/pages/Show-Mohammed-Day/121228857900451
and a backup of the welcome page is at
http://www.showmohammed.com/
Unfortunately with the Everybody Draws Mohammed facebook page and its > 100,000 people following it perhaps having been censored.. I seem
to be suddenly starting from scratch to find sources to spread the word.
thanks.

Hello,
I wish you would not link to the very first interview I did before my cartoon went viral where I let myself get side-swiped. I never “declared” EDMD. I made a satirical poster backed by a fictional group. My one-off cartoon is rotten as a long-term plan! I never committed to starting a ‘movement’ (although Dave Ross tried to make me commit). I never set up a page for drawings nor received any. Please see accurate information on my website: http://www.mollynorris.com/
Thanks, Molly
Dear Molly; You have stumbled into some very deep and dangerous water and are swept up in the current. I agree with your initial instincts and I am sorry you now find yourself in such a terrifying predicament. A number of women in the US have chosen to take on Islam and you might consider contacting them to ask advice. Unlike you these women made a conscious decision to face the danger and grab the devil by the horns. Ayaan Hirsi Ali is one of these courageous people and she wrote an article recently which speaks to your situation as well as anyone who stands up to Islam. Interestingly Ms. Hirsi Ali comes to the same conclusion and solution to the problem of Islamist intolerence that you did. So pat yourself on the back and embrace your new life knowing you did the right thing. Here is Ayaan Hersi Ali’s advice to Matt Stone and Trey Parker (and you):
For this apparent blasphemy, Mr. Amrikee warned that co-creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone “will probably end up” like Theo van Gogh. Van Gogh, readers will remember, was the Dutch filmmaker who was brutally murdered in 2004 on the streets of Amsterdam. He was killed for producing “Submission,” a film that criticized the subordinate role of women in Islam, with me.
…There has been some debate about whether Mr. Stone and Mr. Parker should view the Web posting as a direct threat. Here’s Mr. Amrikee’s perspective: “It’s not a threat, but it really is a likely outcome,” he told Foxnews.com. “They’re going to be basically on a list in the back of the minds of a large number of Muslims. It’s just the reality.” He’s also published the home and office addresses of Messrs. Stone and Parker, as well as images of Van Gogh’s body.
…So how worried should the creators of “South Park” be about the “marginal figures” who now threaten them? Very. In essence, Mr. Amrikee’s posting is an informal fatwa. Here’s how it works:
There is a basic principle in Islamic scripture—unknown to most not-so-observant Muslims and most non-Muslims—called “commanding right and forbidding wrong.” It obligates Muslim males to police behavior seen to be wrong and personally deal out the appropriate punishment as stated in scripture. In its mildest form, devout people give friendly advice to abstain from wrongdoing. Less mild is the practice whereby Afghan men feel empowered to beat women who are not veiled.
…Any Muslim, male or female, who knows about the “offense” may decide to perform the duty of killing those who insult the prophet. So what can be done to help Mr. Parker and Mr. Stone?
The first step is for them to consult with experts on how to stay safe. Even though living with protection, as I do now in Washington, D.C., curtails some of your freedom, it is better than risking the worst.
…Much depends on how far the U.S. government is prepared to contribute to their protection. According to the Danish government, protecting Mr. Westergaard costs the taxpayers $3.9 million, excluding technical operating equipment. That’s a tall order at a time of intense fiscal pressure.
…One way of reducing the cost is to organize a solidarity campaign. The entertainment business, especially Hollywood, is one of the wealthiest and most powerful industries in the world. Following the example of Jon Stewart, who used the first segment of his April 22 show to defend “South Park,” producers, actors, writers, musicians and other entertainers could lead such an effort.
…Another idea is to do stories of Muhammad where his image is shown as much as possible. These stories do not have to be negative or insulting, they just need to spread the risk. The aim is to confront hypersensitive Muslims with more targets than they can possibly contend with.
P. S. Molly I sincerely wish for your safety and hope you find the right way to adjust to your new reality. You may wish to hide but I urge you to stand up and fight. The cause is paramount for all who love liberty and sanity. Just in case you are curious I hide behind my pseudonym to maintain my ability to travel in the middle east and Asia so I can photograph and report from places where I would be in danger if my name was out on the internet.
Good Luck Molly, El Marco

Hey, can someone create a website or facebook thingy so that ALL Muslims who repudiate violence, evil and suicide bombers, to sign up. I want to see how many will send a message and also do so using their real names.
Love this site. I wish it would make the headlines on WSJ, FOX, MSN, CNN, MSNBC, all MSM! Good job. I don’t understand it? If Mohammad is so powerful, and if they truly believe Allah is God, why kill when Allah can do for himself what he wants. You preach the word and allow people to make up their own minds. After all, if you force people to come to religion, then a bunch of hypocrites will be there and they would not be genuine. I hope this site remains up. I am about to set is as my homepage. Very good article and well researched. I want to see what their comments will be now that we have proof again the lying evil hypocrite they are.
